Before surgery

Following my previous post, here are some pictures of me a few months before surgery. Compare with results in previous update to see the difference.

Update -1 year+

It's been over a year now. I recently had my hair dyed by my GF so that the white hair don't show anymore. I am very happy that I did the FUE surgery with Dr Civas.
I have three very minor remarks.
- During that year I experienced some itching sometimes on the donor area (where the graft have been taken). Nothing painful, I just noticed it from time to time. I don't have it anymore
- The hair on my forehead are exactly as they were when I was 20. They seem to be more dry., less soft. Maybe I should use a conditioner.
- The covering is very good but again not what I had when I was 20. On the photo from the top you can see the skin underneath the hair. But of course how could I get from a semi-bald 50 years old guy to a 20 years old looking guy :)
- The frontline has less hair as well, so I can see that I had FUE.

Now the question is, can other people see it? Well, for the past 3 months I have been dating a girl who is 34 and she did not make any remark or comment about my hair. She dyed my hair, so I am sure she has seen it from very close - but she never told me anything. Nor did anyone else that I have met since my hair is back to normal.

I have seen a picture of me taken by my son before the surgery. I will ask him to sent it to me. I can't believe I looked like that ! This FUE surgery is a major success, it has helped me with my confidence and it makes me look younger. I'm a very happy fellow and I would do it again without hesitation!

4 months

I like to keep my hair short. I went several times to the hairdresser, she knows what I went through;) She told me that Dr Civas did an extremely good job, as she's used to see FUE guys she told me that usually it looks like "corn fields", exactly what she said. Corn crops.... Haha.
The past 3 months have been ok. Initially I was wearing the cap I got from the clinic as it was too obvious that there was something with my hair. Now, I walk bare head and nobody seems to notice.
Someone told me one month ago "did you have hair surgery?" but that's a girl who knew someone who had FUE so she's clearly well informed. But my new GF (of last week) who is 34 yo did not notice anything -or she is too polite to mention anything. I have a friend who knows about my surgery and he told me that it looks very nice. Attaching some pictures, but due to poor camera and lighting it does not look as good as in real life. Overall really happy. I did not shed all my hair, so what you see is most likely the remaining hair, plus some new hair, the rest is just starting to grow. I read on Qora that "the range of growth possibilities is somewhere between 2-8 months" so I'm halfway. Looks good, when it's raining I don't feel the rain over my scalp (i HATED the feeling). So really happy. I can only confirm what I wrote initially about Dr Civas. I would go again without hesitation, glad I chose him, I read after the surgery many horror stories about unnatural look/por results in cheap clinics, including some ppl starting to lose hair 2/3 years after surgery. I'm not there yet, but from what I read this is due to poor transplantation. So I suppose I'll come back to update this in 2 years from now :)

Amazing. Kind, smart, really preoccupied by the well being of his patients. And he knows the ins and outs of hair transplant. Highly recommended.
